It's been a long time. . .

Ok, so I know I haven't written in FOREVER and I truly apologize. I will give you a little update on how a past two months have been going in your busy little life.

Lets see, we took you to the beach for the first time and by the end of the week we couldn't get you out of the sand. You loved it so much. Thankfully you never tried to put the sand in your mouth, although, you were close on several occasions. At the beach you met all of Grandpa Tom's family, and they loved you. Everyone fought over holding you, and playing with you. Why wouldn't they?! I also think you had more fun than anyone else at the beach, simply because the more people that were around the happier you got and the louder the room was the louder you got.

Your two front teeth came in, those were pretty bad. Much worse than the bottom two. But they are pearly white, and they are coming down quite beautifully!

We took a couple of trips to Hazard, KY to visit Nana, and you tried your first bite of Nana's amazing green beans. This is mommy's favorite dish Nana cooks, and of course you loved it as well. You also tried Ravioli, which was also a success. You ate very well this weekend. Hurray!!!
The day we came home you came down with the Norovirus, oh boy, then daddy got it, and mommy shortly after! This virus was terrible!! You got dehydrated and went to the ER, and of course they didn't do anything that we wouldn't have done at the house, except prescribe Zofran to help settle your stomach. The next weekend, while still recovering, we drove to Atlanta. Seeing that it was the only time we could go we decided to risk getting grandma, grandpa & uncle jake sick. Unfortunately, grandma and uncle jake got the virus, BUT it didn't last long and wasn't near as bad as what we had the week before.

We took you too the Georgia Aquarium, and Stone Mountain to see the laser light show. You loved both places! I think we will have to get a fish tank for the house, because you like the fish SO much! Now, every time we go to Wal-Mart and you see the fish you go insane, and try to catch them. Stone Mountain was a blast and even though you were exhausted from the long day you were able to stay awake through almost the entire show! Grandma and Grandpa Mangan bought you a green stone mountain monkey and you held onto that with the tightest grip possible and clung to your daddy the entire time. You also saw your first set of fireworks during that show, I liked how we killed two birds with one stone!

Now that we are all well and back home, safe and sound, it's time to start getting you on your way to walking. You this walker and you can bust a move on that thing. You basically run across our floors. If only you could build up the courage to let go and walk on your own. I have a feel it's going to happen one day very soon, it's only a matter of when?! It's also getting closer to your 1st birthday! Oh my, ONE YEARS OLD, I can't believe our precious baby girl is going to be ONE! This year has flown buy. I decided to do your party in Minnie Mouse. I also made the decision to handmake your birthday invitations, along with your birthday cakes. . . I'm not so sure how great of an idea that was, but I know it'll be extra special is mommy makes it!

Well this is all I have to report! I promise I will be better at posting from now on! And pictures will be soon to follow!

July 4th Weekend

So we started our weekend out by going to our friends house to take Madison to the pool. Of course she loved that!
Then we went to my aunt's lake house, which was a blast. Madison started to get a little fussy, so Brian decided that he would play a game with her.

YouTube Video

Which of course made us laugh until we almost pissed our pants!!

The next day, after Brian finished working we took Madison to our county pool. She had never been here before, and boy o boy did she loves this place. This pool is within walking distance from our house, well a little bit of a long walk, but you could walk there.

Making friends. . .

Madison saw daddy and was trying to walk as fast as she could to get to him!!

It was a good weekend. . .

The Babysitter's House

So we decided that we would start letting our neighbor babysit Madison while I go to school in the evenings. Our neighbor already babysits a little girl an they have a son, so I figure, "ok, Madison can get some social skills". Of course the minute I dropped her off I was feeling sick to my stomach! When I returned home and went across the street to pick her up this is what I walked into. . .

Needless to say, she was having a great time with the other kids and I worried that whole time for nothing!! I guess she can live without me for a little while, imagine that!!!

INDEPENDENCE

So we've been working on "holding the bottle" ourselves these days. Going pretty well so far, no complaints!

I'm pretty sure she was using the tray to prop it up.

Too CUTE!!!

Grandma's Trip

So grandma Debbie came for a few days, again, after we got back from our trip. Needless to say Madison got some new toys!

What is this new big toy??

Hmmm it's kinda tall mama.

Yep I like this!!

Oh look, the puppy dog!! Hmmm...

I wonder what will happen if I do this??!! (poor Gus)

Nevermind, I'll just come attack mommy instead!!

What a look! Now you know this is that curious look she's going to perfect in about 2 years and try to use it against Brian and I. Beware of the cute looks, they always get ya!!!

Madison's ALMOST crawl. . .

Today we played on the floor for a while trying to see if we could get her to crawl, this is about as good as it's gonna get for right now!!! She's doing really well though! Last night I tried to child proof the house as much as I could, there are still a few things we need to have done, but for the most part it's all ready to go for the crawler!!!

This video is pretty cute!

The Aftermath

So it's now Tuesday, I wake up and Madison is screaming bloody murder, come to find she made it all the way on her knees and was attempting to pull herself up the crib. . . yep that was scary!!

All morning she cried and wanted to get into anything and everything, no matter how many toys I had on the floor, something else (something she wasn't supposed to be playing with) was more interesting!!!

Look at this little rotten look she's giving me!!! OH boy, am I in trouble!!!

As the day went on she decided at 1:30 she was going to go down for a nap, as I was so looking forward to, because she did not nap much that morning, which she typically naps for an hour shortly after she gets up in the morning. I laid her down in her crib at about 1:30pm, I went downstairs to wash her bottles and all the sudden I here her crying on the monitor, thank God for the video monitor we have, so I can just hit a button and I can see what she's doing. When I look, there she is wide awake, and it's only 1:50pm!!! YES, 20 minutes later!!! HA HA HA.
I let her cry for a few minutes to see if she would go back to sleep, that didn't work, this cry turned into a full blown scream, which then turned into a panic cry that sounded like she was being beaten to death, it was awful!! I don't think I've heard her cry that bad ever. So of course I go upstairs to check on her and make sure she hasn't flipped out of the bed, since she was close to pulling herself up this morning. When I walk in her room this is how I was greeted!

Needless to say, not only could I not stop laughing because of the pitiful look on her face, but I also wanted to scream because I hadn't had a minute to myself today, and I was really really really looking forward to the typical 1 1/2-2 hour nap she takes at this time of the day. So I tried to rock her for an hour and a half and she wouldn't budge.

Of course, when Brian got home to babysit while I went to class, Madison took an hour nap for him from 5-6pm. Must have been nice! I swear she is a much better baby for him than she is for me! If he babysits her, she rarely cries, and she never throws her tantrums. With me, oh no, totally different baby! She won't let me put her down, she just can't get enough of mommy. I'm sure I'll miss this one day, but man o' man, she sure if giving me a headache on top of the usual migraine. Which by the way, still hasn't eased up since this past Friday!!!! OMG!!!

Well, this is all I have to report for now, I should probably get to bed so I'm not too tired by the time she decides to get up in the morning!

I hope everyone is enjoying the blog so far!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

So this weekend was really hectic and busy. . . but we spent our holiday weekend with some friends at their pool! Of course Madison loves the pool, and freaks out when she see's her floaty, too cute I must say! Thankfully we have gotten really lucky with her not getting sun burnt, either the sun isn't that strong yet or I'm just doing a really good job with the sunscreen. I don't really care what the reason is, at least it's working, whichever it may be. (I have some videos of her in the pool, not sure how to get it on my computer from our camcorder, hopefully I can get that on here soon! I'll keep you posted.) These pictures are really cute of when we were on our way to our friends house. . .

She loved this hat so much, she wore it the entire day at the pool!!!!!

Of course all the swimming made her exhausted and she passed out for her nap at our friends house for a little over 2 hours, which is a very rare amount of nap time for her. But I wasn't complaining!

We got home late every night this past weekend, probably between 11pm-12am. Yes probably not a smart decision on our part. BUT she had been asleep since 8/9pm, so we figured that it wouldn't really make a difference. Oh how we were wrong. . . Little did we know what was in store for us the next day, Tuesday.

Blowing bubbles

Friday. May 28th 2010

You know the feeling when you finish all your chores and you have a few minutes before you have to actually do anything or go anywhere? You know like, taking care of your regular responsibilities, and you sit down on the couch or lay down in bed just to take a load off and ALL OF THE SUDDEN the phone rings. And at that moment you close your eyes, take a deep breath and exhale really loud (thinking to yourself, 'COME ON, ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW'), almost wishing the person calling was not alive, or would soon be dead, due to the fact that you were going to pick up and give them a "meeting Jesus" type of conversation. Well that's how I felt this morning. . .

Brian left to go golfing at 7:20am this morning, which of course I can't really say anything, the man needs a break. This whole week he took on not only his regular 40 hours of work, but another 29 hours of overtime... he's absolutely beat. Unfortunately, because of the late nights and all the work he's been doing it's left me on full-time baby watch, except when I'm at class, which was canceled yesterday, by the way, which was extremely refreshing!
Of course 20 minutes after he leaves, Madison decides to wake up and grace me with a loud scream of panic because neither Brian nor I was close by, imagine that! So I open my eyes, dreading the "getting up" part and as I lift my head off the pillow, I feel as if someone just hit me upside my head with a frying pan. And I say to myself, 'oh boy, it's gonna be another one of those days'. So I lay my head back down on the pillow for a second and the thought of my darling daughter upstairs screaming for mommy to come get her, making me feel guilty because the poor thing didn't poo poo at all yesterday, and I was sure I would walk upstairs to find she had poo pooed last night.
Of course I'm right, but not only was it poo poo, it was massive diarrhea!! Thankfully it hadn't run up her back yet, I must have gotten there just in time. If you're a parent you know the feeling of picking up your child and you run your hands across the nastiness on the other side of their back and you get their poop under your finger nails!!!! OHHHH GOD!!!!

Needless to say the day didn't go so well. Brian was home late from his golf outing, my migraine stayed around, not letting up at all, all day! It was a rough time. But as usual we made it through that day, and I'm sure there will be plenty of days like this one. OH BOY, I'm starting to think meditation is something I should start doing!!!

All About Madison

So I thought I would write something all about this precious little gift from God. Madison is going to be 8 months old on Tuesday, June 1st. She is 95% of the time a happy, smiling, laughing, playing, loving baby. The other 5% is when she is cranky and is tired, dirty diaper, wants to be held, or accidentally hurts herself (not intentional, I promise!).
Madison is a great sleeper, she's just now getting the hang of nap time!!! =) Thank God!!!! I'm sure this will all come back to haunt me tonight, but that's ok!!!
Each day is such a blessing to have Madison in our lives. Brian and I feel so incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful family and beautiful, healthy and awesome daughter!!

Here recently we've been working on crawling, no luck so far! She can get up on all 4's and rock back and forth, but no plunging forward yet! She can "slither", like a snake almost, the floor. It's pretty funny!! Hopefully she'll be crawling here soon! Oh, and she is definitely the best "roller" I have ever seen!!! She can go anywhere rolling across the floor.
Madison can snap her fingers, it's the cutest thing I've ever seen! She loves Baby Einstein dvd's, those have been a life saver for us!!! Brian has been teaching her how to wave "hi" and "bye". She'll do it sometimes without you noticing it, too cute.

Well that's about all I can think of for right now!!! I will keep you posted when new things happen!! =)

Too Cute You Just Can't Stand It

During her lunch today we tried out some Cheerio's, definitely didn't go well at all, as you can tell by the pictures. She has no idea what to do, and I don't think see liked the taste of them very much. We started her on 2nd level foods as well, she definitely loved those! Hopefully she'll get the hang of the Cheerio's soon!

Motorcyle Momma

Our friend Mitch, he's a Trooper with Brian, came over on his motorcycle this past weekend and Madison was so curious as to what it was. When we sat Madison down on it all she could do was smile and laugh!!! It was soooo cute!

Madison's First Swim

We went to our friend's pool this past weekend and wanted to let Maddie try out the pool for the first time. We figured she would love it considering she loves bath time! Thankfully it was a successful experience, although she did not like the blow up toy we had for her. She was really scared. Madison goes to the beach for the first time in July for our family reunion so we're trying to get her used to the water and the sun. Enjoy the pictures!!!
